Posted - 21 May 2009 : 11:32:18 Good Morning, i have been made redundant twice in one year, and now again unemployed. I am seeking new employment, but its slow. I have contacted creditors and have arrangements in place, but i just cant afford this now, i am not entitled to job seekers allowance and my only option is to go bankrupt. I have asked creditors to make me bankrupt, but they wont, and i can not afford to pay for the costs of bankruptcy, what can i do? its really getting me down, and i dont even sleep now. |

Posted - 22 May 2009 : 08:29:39 Hi there if you are in receipt of benefits you may get a reduction of the Court fee - £150 though will have to pay the OR fee of £360 (each)If you make an appointment with your local Citizens Advice Bureau they offer schemes for low income households to receive a voucher under a scheme operated by many utility companies - though you will have to ask as this is not 'offered' you would get a 'voucher' to enable the full costs of the bankruptcy to be met. You would need to make an appointment with the 'Money Advisor' at your local branch.

Posted - 21 May 2009 : 11:39:53 This is a serious problem with so much unemployment about. Not a court in the land will make you bankrupt without funds. However, dependant upon your debt level, your assets and disposable income, you can apply for a Debt Relief Order through CAB or Payplan.
Let the forum know and we will see if you can be helped further.
