Posted - 16 June 2009 : 13:22:19 My partner was made bankrupt in Aug 2007 and then discharged in Aug 2008. She then received a letter from the council (who originally made her bankrupt) saying that the banding on her council tax had been changed (on 30th Sept 2008) and she was going to receive a rebate cheque for £1800.00, since this letter come through in March 2009 the receivers had claimed the money saying that this money related to period before her bankruptcy. My question is do they have a claim for this rebate as it was re-banded after she was discharged?
