I am discharged today automatically and would just like to thank everyone for help received and to anyone with any doubts do it ,it is the best thing you can do.
Couple of questions
1.does the register get updated today or tomorrow?
2.What should i do now in regards to credit files etc.
Many thanks

Your name will stay on the register for a further 3 months from your date of discharge. Make sure you print off a copy of the entry on the register showing that you are discharged.
You can write to all your creditors asking them to mark your credit file as satisfied or partially satisfied. If you have a look at my blog there is a template letter and information about how to do this.
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

The register should be updated on the day you are discharged so have a look - http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/eiir/. If it still shows you are BR then wait a couple of days and check again. If you are still shown as BR there is a 'Report Error' button at the bottom of the page. Don't forget to print out a couple of copies showing you are discharged in case creditors need proof in the future.
Have a look at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?s=cb2f11b2c3b30cb86f39aa7acf342114&t=677875 as this will show you how to clean up your credit file. There is no need to rush as it will take another 5 yrs for the debt included in your BR to fall off your credit file. |
