I was declared bankrupt in October 09. As I have not been able to find employment I have decided to become self employed in a small way. I have opened a personal bank account with the Co Op but am having trouble opening a simple business bank account. Has anyone else managed to do this or am I simply wasting my time?

Hi

Is the Bankruptcy discharged without BRU/O if so the Barclays may give you an account. I was doischarged in July this year (ED) And I am becoming self employed, went to Barclays and they have given me a Businss Account with Debit Card (Full Visa Debit) and Cheque book, Business Savings Accounts, Personal Cash Card Account with Visa Debit card and savings accounts and full business insurances and personal insurances too.

I would give Barclays a call

Best of Luck

Hi

I am not aware of any one bank that will be good for you on the business account front. Why not ask at the Co-op? I have to say, I have been with every bank over the years and the Co-op are the best that I can ever credit.

I also wish you well in self employment - what do you intend to do?

Good luck whatever it is, Richard
