Posted - 11 December 2009 : 09:57:19 Hello! The apartment is bought from me in Latvia (country). I the unemployed also cannot pay under the credit. How to me to recognise bankruptcy in Great Britain? How long I should work in England that I could put in the statement for the bankruptcy? Where I can get all necessary forms? If it is possible at you there is all information in Russian? |

Posted - 11 December 2009 : 15:57:37 If this is for real then you should be aware that the courts are cracking down on foreigners coming to the UK just to declare bankruptcy (BR) because the BR period is shorter than their own country. This means that it isn't just a case of living/working in the UK for 6 months and then declaring BR. You would need to prove to the courts that you didn't relocate to the UK just to declare BR and, from what you have said, this isn't going to be easy. The only way that I could see that it 'may' be possible is if you are offered employment in the UK while you are still living in Latvia (i.e. a job offer from an employer) as well as being able to prove that you couldn't find suitable employment in Latvia.
If you did come to the UK and declare BR and the courts decided that you only came here in order to declare BR then you would lose the BR fee (£522 in London, £510 elsewhere) and still have your debt problems.
My advice is to try to sort out your debt problems in Latvia as it is highly unlikely that you would be permitted to declare BR in the UK.

To give the OP the benefit of the doubt, all I can say is that we cannot help with employment on this forum.

the rules state centre of main interest
work may be a deciding factor
bank details may help
for the last 6 months, where have you purchased your weekly shopping ?
do you always clothes shop in the UK ?
being to the point just renting the apartment on its own will not show that you have lived here all that time, you must be able to show that all of your lifestyle in the last 6 months relates to london and the UK |

But I must have legally work for 6 months, accaunt in UK bank, and registration that I live in London apartmant for six months. Where I that take?

Posted - 11 December 2009 : 11:39:57 Hello sergejs
It can be very complex applying for bankruptcy as a latvian in the UK
The official receiver is concerned about the number of bankrupt tourist, so you will have to show that you have been resident and that UK has been the centre of your main interest for at least 6 months.
