Posted - 17 December 2009 : 08:58:40 My bankruptcy ran from February till August this year (I was lucky to be discharged early), and having recently started reading the forum I decided to check my credit report.
There are a number of creditors on there still listing me as default with dates ranging from August to December.
I understand that I need to write to these companies but on the template letter it has space for account numbers and I stupidly destroyed every piece of paper with the numbers on when I got the discharge. (Determined never to deal with these people again (very naive!))
I have tried telephoning but end up going round in circles as they just say that I am not on the system and they need an account number!
My apologies for rambling - my question is what can I do to clear my report??

Posted - 17 December 2009 : 16:22:25 Hello again, thank you so much for all the advice.
All my dealings were with Southend on Sea, and they have been nothing but helpful.I have spoken to my Or office today and they are going to send me all the details.
It was a very quick case, no IPA - but definately not something I will EVER let happen again |

Posted - 17 December 2009 : 11:22:54 Hi leah
have you checked the insolvency.gov website
they normally remove an individuals reference number when you are ED however if you have received an IPA your details will still be shown.
in the insolvency website stuff they do state that they will try to remove people from the register within 3 months
what about calling the bankruptcy court you applied to ?

Posted - 17 December 2009 : 09:09:37 Hi
Sounds frustrating!!
Congrats on your ED though
A quick call to the ORs office and speak to your examiner or an administrator - you may have to put it in a letter to them - should enable them to find the account number - that should set you on your way!
Good luck and enjoy a new year debt free, Richard
