Posted - 04 January 2010 : 19:19:39 Hi PBS
I told CoOP about my impending BR when i opened the account. they were very helpful
I have also transfered my home and car insurance to them as some of the other companies have sub text about not allowing BR to have policies with them
regards and good luck next month Richard |

Posted - 02 January 2010 : 15:06:57 its one of those things, although i believe that Yorkshire bank will let you have a savings account, but not a current account |

Posted - 02 January 2010 : 14:12:11 I cannot oraise the co operative staff enough, we were very honest when they asked why we were opening the account and it was not a problem. only problem was that we were not allowed a savings account with them. credit agency refusedm it, which really confuses me. |

Posted - 31 December 2009 : 23:28:35 Just to echo the above posts, the Co-op are fantastic with BRs. There was no problem with me opening an Cashminder account 2 weeks prior to BR and I did say that I was planning to declare BR when I opened the account. The only thing I would add is that it can take up to 14 days (or maybe more now) to open an account so this is something that should be taken into account with time-scales when planning a BR. |

Posted - 31 December 2009 : 19:08:43 Hi pbs,
Welcome to the forum.
I simply wanted to say I opened a Cashminder Bank Account with the Co-op in May this year when I filed for BR. They are one of the few banks that are BR friendly.
I cannot praise them enough. Their staff in the branches are polite and courteous as are the staff I have spoken to in their offices.
I am sure they will look after you and good luck with your BR - post back the site and its contributers will make you welcome.
Happy New Year to you and yours, Richard

Posted - 31 December 2009 : 18:33:56 You don't have to tell them, but they usually ask if you are bankrupt or intending to file for bankruptcy, as many people who opt for this account do so with CCJ's or intended bankruptcy action. They have no problem with this, and are only to happy to offer basic banking provision for people seeking bankruptcy as a solution.
