I've just realised why my mum's address was printed - I hadn't changed the address for some of my creditors (nothing dodgy, just an oversight!) so that's the reason!

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

The strict rule is that you have to declare any addresses you have resided at during the period the bankruptcy debts were incurred, but on the newspaper advertisement this is usually limited to the previous six months.

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com

Is it 6 months Melanie? I had to declare my mum's address and I hadn't lived there for a year when I went BR.

Hi clma

As for your partner coming to live with you you will need to inform both benefits agency and the local council who pay your council tax and housing benefit.

If he is on benefits as well when he moves in with you then either you or he will have to make a new JOINT claim with the benefits agency.

The council tax and housing benefit will be done at the same time aswell. You might have letters from the council saying that you are in arrears with both housing benefit and council tax due to him moving in but it can take upto 3 months for it to sort itself out.

I moved in with my wife before we marries last june and everything was finally sorted by August. Just shows how long it can take.

As for the BR side wait for one of the professionals to help there. I know the benefits side of it having been there recently.

Hope this helps
