Hi and welcome to the forum.
The bailiffs cannot take anything that belongs to your mother and you do not have to let them in unless they have a warrant.
This is what they can and can't do:

Have you thought about bankruptcy? I'd have a chat with an expert, you can find some on here via the expert link on the left hand side of the page. Give them a ring for some free advice.

Hi Aus and welcome.
You should also consider getting yourself down to your local citizens advice bureau as soon as you can. You may have to make an appointment first, depends where you live.
Hope all goes well.

Id personally seek advice from as many as I could.
CAB all depends where you live. You might be able to drop in, phone interview, or appointment, or a combination of all.

As Niobe has said the bailiffs can't take anything belonging to your Mother. I can understand that you don't need the added stress at this time - I am very sorry for the loss of your Father.
By all means contact the CAB but I would also contact the experts who post on here - if the CAB has a waiting list (as they often do) this is too important to wait.
Good luck and please let us know how you get on x

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 and I'm now looking forward to getting married in September 2012 - I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side. |

Id reiterate. Contact every expert you can.
Here, CAB and other sources.
As has been said by all of us I think, don't wait.
Good luck, keep posting and let us know how you get on.
