Hi all,
At what point, if any can I start to repair my credit record? I know that I am pretty much stuck for 6 years, but is there anything at all I can do to start repairing it in the meantime. I obviously don't want credit cards and loans after my discharge but is there anything else I can do? Before I decided to petition my own BR, a company who wanted to "manage" my BR said they could do things to help repair my credit rating. Any idea what this would be? Is it something I can do? Do I write to credit ref agencies once discharged??
Any ideas/advice would be great - I am determined to build a healthier financial future for myself!
Thanks

Hi Vicki
when my dad was younger he had a bad credit rating, not due to debt, he paid a company £1 to have his credit recrod wiped and reset to top credit rating.
Don't know who they were or if they are still in business, would be interesting to know if such a company does exist so we can all get our credit records repaired |

Hi Vicki & Storm,
There is no real quick fix to improving your credit rating.
Once discharged from Bankruptcy I suggest paying for your certificate of discharge and sending a copy to each of the credit reference agencies.
If you borrow any money after Bankruptcy then make regular payments even if this is a contract mobile phone as these will all help to show you have a good payment record.

I'm in the process of writing to all of my creditors to ask them to amend the default date to my BR date, and to mark the accounts as satisfied or part satisfied.
Also, my contract mobile, Co-op Cashminder account and Nationwide Flexaccount all report to the credit reference agencies.
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
