Hi Windy, I see from checking your other posts that you have teken positive steps already.
Speakking to NDH and CAB are good positive things to do.
You really have little to worry about. You have been bottling the debt issue up for years, try to see the bankruptcy as a release from all that.
Your name will not appear in the local paper so nobody will know.
YOur debts will be expunged and as I suspect you have little or no disposable income, there is unlikely to be any income payments order.
I suspect you can look forward to an early discharge even if your affairs are simple.
Try to see this as a release and not more pain. You are clearly struggling but if you can try to turn this into a positive thought, about taking control.
If you need more help just come on back.

Taking the cowards way out would only put more pressure and misery on your wife/kids so put this idea out of your head straight away. If you are feeling depressed then speak to your doctor who will either be able to prescribe you something or put you in touch with support groups that will help you.

You have taken the first steps to resolving your financial issues by posting on this board. Your wife/kids will hardly be affected by your BR as BR only affects the person rather than people they live with or the address they live at.

Is your wife aware of your financial situation? Declaring BR will remove any financial worries that your currently have and also any calls/letters that you are getting from creditors.

Thank you Steve, i have bottled the problems up for far too long. Because of the fear of coming to this point. As i can not get an appointment until next week with CAB the worry and pressure seems to have intensified since, i decided to take matters into my own hands. Even though I have spoken with a really nice fella at NDH this waiting to speak to CAB is going to drag on so long, even though as my wife said today, its taken me 7 years to get to the point where I know the problems wont just go away and that something needs to be done.
