Applying to become a Director

Has anybody had experience of applying to become a Director of a limited company whilst subject to a BRU? I am likely to be in this situation soon and before I accept the BRU being offered I am trying to determine how likely it is that I could get a court to allow me to act as a Director and how much it is likely to cost to get it approved. The background to this is that I am a IT contractor and it is difficult, but not impossible, to operate as such without having your own limited company. Appreciate any thoughts/comments/experience. The Insolvency website just points to the primary legislation. Cheers

Good morning Jonnym

I would suggest that one of the stipulations on the BRU will be that you cannot hold a directorship whilst being subject to the BRU and I do not think that you would be able to find a court who will overturn the BRU. You have obviously done something untoward to warrant a BRU. The first port of call must be the OR and explain to him the employment situation. You can have other restrictions without the need for a directorship restriction.

Best of luck.
