I want to open up a savings account, I haven't yet tried but after reading some posts on here I am wondering if I would be able to.

I was discharged from BR in January this year and would like to start up some sort of savings account, just to put the odd few pounds in, here and there, any suggestions for an ex BR anyone? Do they credit check you for this type of account by the way? I do have a co-op cash card account

It may also be worthwhile talking to your existing bank at the Co-Op - i think most banks automatically credit check you these days, but if you are discharged from your bankruptcy it shouldn't be a problem opening a savings account

The Co-op, for some reason, don't normally allow a savings account unless you have been discharged for 6 months although there is no harm in trying.
