Hi everyone
I am trying to start up on my own as a holistic therapist, I need to have insurance for this quite quickly. One of the questions on the application form for the insurance is 'have I been bankrupt'. I was discharged from BR in January and I have checked the website for this. The insurance company have asked for a discharge certificate and I have applied for this today. Can this be refused? When I telephoned the court today they told me that the OR usually lets you know when you are discharged. I am a bit concerned now but surely it wouldn't be on the insolvency website that I am discharged when I'm not. Any advice please.

You usually get a letter from the OR if you are discharged early, and you would be well aware if your discharge had been suspended for any reason.

You don't usually get a certificate of discharge anymore but the OR will do you a letter confirming your discharge date if you request one

Hi almost there

Most insurance companies will accept the print off from the insolvency web site.

After discharge you can apply to the court for a court extract but this will cost money believe £60.

regards Richard
