Hi,
After too many years of hiding my head under the sand I have finally decided to battle my demons and face the debt I have built up over the years.

I did an Experian credit report and was shocked and actually slightly disappointed to see there was just one debt ( I say disappointed because whether they are listed or not, there are more and I want to know about them ). I have lived abroad for a while and lived at a few addresses. I was wondering if this is why not all are shown or would that not make any difference??.....does it go on your name D.O.B etc?

hi and welcome to the forum
there are 3 credit reference agencies
experian (credit expert)
equifax
call credit

if you check all 3 that will give you a better idea of your total creditors

even if you cannot find on your credit files debts you know about they will still be listed on your SOA and your unsecured debts will be cleared in BR
even dbets you don not know about or forget about can still be included afterwards

RevivaUK and Paul Johns helped me through it all i can't recommend them enough!!

Thanks,
I am worried that when I do declare BR that not all my debts will be declared, I was told that I must declare them all .

Hi Scott

yes you must list all of your creditors and the money outstanding

in addition to chesters points you may want to ask the local court in case any of the creditors have obtained a CCJ against you, unless someone has internet link.

if you do not know the amount outstanding enter a nominal £1

If you cannot remember all of your creditors enter a couple of paragraphs at the end of the statement of affairs stating why you cannot recall all the creditors. (basically as you have entered above)

if a creditor contacts you after BR, you should write to the OR and ask for the debt to be included, obviously only debts generated before BR will be included.

regards
