I am really worried.I live in Ireland but I have a huge legal bill with a UK legal firm. My case looks less likely to be successful and I am wondering if I can declare myself bankrupt in the UK or must I declare myself Bankrupt in Ireland first?

you only have to declare BR once

Ireland is part of the EU as such all of your debts are included in one application

alternatively move back to UK for the greater part of 6 months and declare BR here.
i believe the laws relating to BR in Ireland are much worse than the UK
you may want to take professional insolvency advice from one of the forum experts who may be able to assist
i would personally recommend Paul Johns from RevivaUK www.revivauk.com
he has helped and advised many people who are abroad all around the world

Dave

Don't worry or know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum.(Baz Lurhman)
RevivaUK and Paul Johns helped me through it all i can't recommend them enough!!
