my husband bought the house we r living in in 1996, i went personally bankrupt in jan 2006, the house isnt in my name and never has been, but my trustee is trying to get my husband to "buy" my half of the house, when its not mine...............? he isnt the one to have gone bankrupt, i am, and he isnt pleased with letters he keeps getting. the trustee has tried to obtain details from land registry, but as house is in his name, they didnt get any details of how much mortgage is owing?

Hi Animalmagic,

Unfortunately you could have developed a proprietary interest in your husbands property by contributing your income towards household payments.

Your trustee is trying to claim this and unfortunately are within their rights to do so.

Without knowing the full details of your case I could not comment on what to expect.

May I suggest you either contact one of the Bankruptcy Specialists on the experts page or call the helpline at the top of the page and someone will be able to explain this process and your options.
