Hi to everyone,
I was declared bankrupt on 31st March this year by the Accountant in Bankruptcy (Scotland). When I received my letter from them they said it would take a few weeks perhaps before all my creditors would be informed and that it wouldn't be a bad idea to write to them as well. I have done this, but one creditor in particular is still hounding - I have had 5 phone calls today! They are also threatening to send someone to where I live on Wednesay. In addition, the house where I stay is not mine, it is owned by my Dad and the telephone number they use is my Dad's own line, it seems unfair that they should be hassling him as well as me. Any advice, would be very warmly received!! For example should I get a solicitor for this situation?

Hi Helen
Sorry i do not know the answers North of the Border
But would encourage early conversation with Accoutancy in bankruptcy.
legislation south of the border does protect bankrupts from creditors chasing after them as this is harrassment.
good luck Regards Richard

Like Richard I don't know about BR in Scotland, but when I was still being chased by a creditor I asked phoned them and asked them to confirm the address I should write to. I then wrote them a letter of complaint and enclosed a copy of my BR order and I didn't hear from them again.
