3 weeks and few days into my BR and its all still.
Havent heard anything since the OR interview and no letter showed up to my landlord.
My OR didnt actually say much about any IPA, but as Ive mentioned-I def dont have more than maybe £30 after expenses......how do I actually know though about IPA...?? Is there further forms/info due later to me...??
I def dont want to contact the OR or 'rock the boat' as they say.

And about car insurance:
why is it cheaper if you have a common law partner as second driver on policy?
If you say youre single it goes up in price?
Is it wrong to put down an ex partner on the policy? (obviously with their concent and do occationally drive as needed+then be insured)

Am I just being paranoid here..?
Any ideas??

If you get an IPA you will receive a form advising you of the amount you will need to pay. This is normally received 2/3 months after you are declared BR.

I can't really answer the car insurance questions but someone else may be able to.

Hi MW

My OR told me regarding the IPA I would hear within 3 months if I was going to get one, apparently they have to go and have a look at the figures etc. I was fortunate that he rang me back 10 minutes after my interview to say that he had had a quick look at the figures and I wouldn't be getting an IPA.

I also didn't hear anything from my OR after the interview except receiving exemption letter for my furniture and household goods and then I didn't hear anything after that til I received my letter saying I had been given early discharge.

Take Care

Hi MW

please relax, the OR will not write or chase you they will get round to you as and when.

they could wait until 6 months when they review your I & E before deciding if you qualify.

some insurance companies are anti Bankrupts, it pays to ring around dont bother with comparison websites as they automatically default you to an attendant if you tick the BR box, i found co-op very helpful.

dont forget that you cannot take out credit for more than £500 without telling the insurance company that you are BR, i would tell them anyway just in case of teh small print

good luck Richard

Thanks so much to all for replies!! Its really helpful!

I shall hold tight as they say and cross my fingers for the IPA.I do realise the Brighton OR office is majorly busy.
My car insurance is less than £300 and my ex is more than happy to be on the policy as he does occ drive my car.
When I did the car ins they didn't ask me anything about BR, but did ask me if I had any CCJ's,so I then explained and still everything was ok.

Like lots of others here on the forum, I sort of feel torn between really relaxing or waiting for that luxury when I one day receive my discharge!?

Thanks again everyone :)
