my husband and i have rented out our house without the mortgage company knowing, we are living with my parents but are still struggling to cope. we are going to try to persue bankruptcy in aug when the tenants leave. we have just discovered that we are expecting in february. i am not concerned about the bankruptcy process but rather where we will end up. do you know at what point in the bankruptcy process we will be able to either a)get a council house or b)begin renting. i do now want to move back into the house we 'own' as it's the thing that caused all the trouble. any advice?

Hi Kelly - welcome to the forum
From previous posts the BR experts have advised securing a renting property before going BR.
Although not all private landlords do credit checks - most larger property rental companies do.
Hang on there for a BR expert to come on line to advise you further and good luck with your BR.

Hi Kelly.r and welcome to the forum.

Vicki is indeed correct that you should secure your new rental prior to BR. However, your case is quite interesting and I would suggest you call the helpline for more details.
