Hi everyone,

I just wanted to give you a quick update on our situation.

My hubby and I filed for BR on the 30th April this year. It was a terribly stressful and upsetting time, as I'm sure you are all aware.

Three months on, I can sincerely say it was the best thing we have ever done. No more sleepless nights, worrying the doorbell is going to have creditor at the other end of it or arguing over money.

We managed to get low valuations of our property, so can buy the BI for £213.00, our life policies we have bought back for £50 each, and no one (apart from family who we told) is any the wiser.

We have more 'spare' cash than before (never any left from paying creditors)...and we are in control of things for the first time in a very long time.

We have an IPA of £458.00, but it's a small price to pay for peace of mind.

The advice on here and from our Ip was invaluable, it helped us plan our BR and I can safely say we will never get in that situation (80k debt) again.

To anyone who is reading this, please get good advice and don't be scared.

Take care,

Sunshine x

Thank you for sharing that Sunshine, and I totally agree with you.

I have to say that BR wouldn't have been my first choice, but it was the right thing for me as well.

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 - it's over at last!

Thanks guys,
I just looked back at some of my first posts and remembered just how worried I was back then, the whole stigma etc....
It's amazing how in such a short period of time things can turn around.
Thank you all for your support and your guidance, it really has been invaluable...
Take care xxx
