Hi Everyone,

I would be grateful if anyone has any experience of an IP requesting to do an internal house valuation? I presume by this they mean checking for contents. Is this a normal procedure?

In principle I have no real issue as I have nothing to hide, though I am a little concerned by having someone routing through the house!

Regards, D

It is unusual, are you sure they dont just mean a valuation of the property where they come in and value it rather than say an estate agent valuation where they just look at the size and location of the property

I have seen it done once and that is because the person said they had almost no assets but had put down "antique dealer" as a job.

In the above occasion the OR did not believe what the person had said.

Other than that I have only seen it with sole traders getting business assets valued.

Thanks for the responses.

The actual message from the IP said:

"To further assist me would you confirm whether you would agree to have the property at ** **** Road internally valued by an agent of our choice."

Maybe as suggested by Debtinfo it is a house valuation?

Thanks also Paul for your thoughts as I was also concerned that the IP might think there were loads of valuable contents - I fear that if that is case they will be disappointed. Antique Dealerships is not something I have been involved with to date - Unfortunately life is far more down to earth than that!!

Regards, D
