I am new on here, altho have been a watcher for a while! I have a quetion about what happens after bankruptcy.
My partner and I went BR on 9/10/09, so are due to hopefully be discharged in october this year. The question I am asking is - What happens when your discharged, do some restrictions still apply to you or are ALL the restrictions and regulations just for the year of BR?
The reason I ask is that I am 5 months pregnant and I am hoping to make some extra money to help with the new baby when it is born by selling a few things we don't need i.e my car as I won't be working anymore. I don't want to sell this and think I'm ok to have the money and then be asked to hand it over to the OR. Also my dad won a large amount on the lottery and has offered to give us some money when the baby is born to help out. I don't want his money for his grandchild to be caught up in paying back my debts.
Once you are discharged (and I presume you haven't got a BRO/U) then you can sell your car and your Dad can help you financially. You are not under the restrictions of bankruptcy anymore.
If you have an IPA, then you still need to tell them of your income and expenditure changes.
