Hi Got my interview next week. They dont want to talk to my wife (we both went bankrupt) as it would appear to be a straight forward case.
Our car is worth £1500 and we need it for work - do you think we will keep it?
I have put down £490.00 per month housekeeping (me, my wife and 2 year old) - i know this is high but we have NOTHING for our new child, due in Feb. So i was hoping that they might allow us more so we can get travel system, cot, clothes etc?
They said we would most likely be subject to an IPA, which is fine. Do you think that if we have the interview next week, i could ask to pay nothing until Dec? If i have Novembers money spare i could, with having a very tight budget, get some things for the baby - see above?
i dont want to push it with the OR, and we have been reasonable i think with our outgoings, but if you add up a travel system, car seat, cot, clothes (its a girl this time and we already have a boy), then we need to buy a lot just to live - will they take this into account? |

You will find that they are totally realistic - be prepared, explain that this is how things are right now but you do have a new baby due etc and will need higher allowances to account for this as a guideline food for 4 tends to be around £480, meals at work/school would be added on top of that, if just you working say £30, just sit and work out what you think you need but remember to include hairdressing £25 for the 3 of you, pets £23 household repairs £25 hobbies/misc £30 sundires £30....laundry £10 car reapirs & servicing £25
incidentally the value of the car is fine, you would not facing losing the vehicle

Hi Thanks so much for your reply Can i just say at this point that i cannot praise your company enough. Your company helped me with an IVA (which we didnt progress with as bankruptcy was better for me), and even though i could not pay your fee for bankruptcy help, the advice i got and honest opinions, along with answers like the above have cemented my opinion that all your staff are helpful, friendly and dedicated to assisting people - not just in it for the money. Many thanks |
