I was declared bankrupt in June this year. So far everything is going through fine, the only problem im facing is the lack of information from my official receiver. He never seems to answer my questions, he doesnt seem to have any interest in my concerns.
Our house is up for voluntary surrender, and we are getting letters from a loan company who we were with, as there were secured to the mortgage, stating a court hearing? now my official receiver doesnt seem interested in it? should i be worried?? he also told me that its between me and the mortgage company, even though we had a letter stating that the property is now in the official receivers hands? Can you offer any advice on what he should be doing for us?

Thanks
Hayley

Hi

His job is really to sort out the debt situation rather that support you. Crazy though it is.

In reality if you have decided to hand the house back then the best way forward is to plan where you are going to move to and when and ensure that there is minimal disruption to family life.

the secured creditors will form part of the bankruptcy with any shortfall falling within.
