Good morning forum

I have a couple of quick questions relations to two slight changes in my circumstances relationing to my household income

1) On my SOA form I declared that I currently pay £28.00 per month for my household buildings and contents insurance. My renewal has come through and it is now £31.00 per month. I have shopped around and can't really get it any cheaper. Do I need to declare this to the OR?

2) On my SOA form I declared that I £15.00 to BT for my Landline. I never use this phone and always use my mobile. If I decide to cancel this do I need to inform the OR?

I'm not subject to an IPA/IPO and the IR have just informed me that they have written to my employer to input my NT code. I'm nearly 4 months into my BR journey now.

I'm thinking that with regards to the BT lindline I might be better keeping it running until I get discharged (so my income/expediture) isn't messed around any). But then its an extra £15.00 per month that I am paying out for nothing.

Any ideas??

Thank you

1) I wouldn't bother for £3.

2) Did you get an allowance on your I&E for your mobile as well as the landline? If so then you should really let the OR know if you cancel the landline even though it is only £15. Would this put you over the threshold for an IPA?

The easiest option is to keep the landline as you have already been given an allowance for it and then cancel it once you have been discharged. This would mean you wouldn't need to contact the OR and possibly get another I&E to complete.

Thank you for that information 'getting out of debt'.

I declared both my landline and mobile on my SOA form and the OR must have allowed both of them because following on from my telephone interview I have had no contact from the OR's office other than relating to my NT code and them offering to let me purchase their interest in a life/unemployment policy I currently have running. The OR said during my interview that I didnt have the disposable Income for a IPA and I thought it probably best not to cancel the landline until I'm discharged.

Carl

roundabout the 6 month mark of your BR the OR will write asking for an updated I & E. you can then amend your figures

as GOOD suggests you need to keep an eye on the figures on I &E form.

Hi Carl,

I am now discharged but subject to an IPA for a further 18 months. Over this period my direct debits have increased for car insurance, etc, but to be honest the amounts are so minimal they have not really affected me financially and I haven't informed the OR of them. I also have had no contact from them as regards a six monthly check on my I&E, so I assume unless my expenditure (or income) changes dramatically over the next 18 months, then I will not be contacting the OR to review my I&E.
