I live in a home owned by my son-in-law. I don't pay rent. The house isn't mortgaged. I don't have any stake or interest in the property. can this be touched?

Hi Adrian, welcome to the forum.

If you've not contributed to this house financially at any time, then no.

If there is proof that the house was bought by your son and you haven't contributed to the mortgage then you would be seen as a tenant rather than the owner and the property would be exempt from your BR.

Hi Adrian
If I were your trustee in bankruptcy, ie you are living rent free the first question I would ask is did you ever own this property? if the answer is yes there could be significant problems, if no then you may be OK.
