i declared myself bankrupt in 2009 , i am still named on the mortgage of a house with my ex partner which is in negative equity. my ex has been unable to have my name removed due to lack of funds and equity in the property.i have been told that the interest in the property may revert back to me in 2012 ,if the property is sold after that happens am i liable for any of the shortfall ?

Hi Kim.Is

The simple answer is yes because you would be selling the house after bankruptcy discharge and therefore not subject to any Babkruptcy Rules and Law.

All the best.

Actually the opposite is true, as long as you dont at any time accept liability then the shortfall no matter when realised will fall into the bankruptcy
