Hi ALL,

I petitioned my own Bankruptcy in early 2009 and was granted an early dicharged in Sept 2009 and was happily getting on with my new debt free life until recently when i started recieving letters from two companies chasing monies owed to their clients. I religiously listed all my creditors on my petition and i am confident that i missed no one. I have not taken out any credit since being adjudged bankrupt and i am at a loss as to how i should go about getting rid of these vultures who will not go away Help please.

Hi Bendi

dont know if you same poster as Kens

but same advice

Hi Kens

They are trying it on.

you need to send them a copy of your Bankruptcy (court extract and or discharge)

as long as debt originated before early 2009 (Br date).. No probs.

they should not keep on at you but if they do, contact your original OR office

Hi Bendi

Richard P is, of course, correct in that most of the debts incurred prior to you bankruptcy date are included and have been written off other than Student loans, money owed to the CSA or court fines. Unlike a DRO, if a creditor crawls out of the woodwork, so long as the debt has been incurred before the bankruptcy, it is included and you are not liable.

Hi Bendi,
as Richard and Blackie said, any debts you had in your bankruptcy have now been discharged, and you are no longer liable(apart from the ones mentioned by Richard), these companies are trying it on,hoping that they can scare you into coughing up money that they don't need to.

By the way who are they?
