Hello, I actually have another question as wel. One in which I think i've shot myself in the foot. I was declared bankrupt in May 2010, and ordered to pay an IPA of £82 a month, untill my Nil Tax was applied, during which I paid £280 a month (my tax). I then reverted back to the £80 last month. However, the Moonbeever received one too little tax payments, meaning I recently had a letter asking me to bring my payments up to date ( to repay £202). I didn't have the money to pay this up front, but they did give me the option of suggesting a way to bring my account up to date. I also advised that in March 2011 I lost an element of my income (vehicle allowance) which amount to a £1000 reduction in my per annum salary. Moonbeever sent me a change of circumstances form, however, I worked really hard on my IPA, to ascertain my living allowances, did loads of research because I had heard so many horror stories of people being left without a bean to their name. I was honest with everything. What does concern me is some items that were originally listed that I pay are now cheaper, i.e Council Tax, whilst others are more expensive, i.e petrol and food but not really proveable. Another paycut is due Oct 2011 and Oct 2012, but the cost of living will keep going up. Should I just tell Moonbeever I can pay the £202 in full (I might be able to borrow it) and that I don't need a change of circumstance or just try and leave my expenses as they are? I'm also aware that the guidance on how much disposable income to take had changed from 50%, which made my IPA £82 to a 100% now, which means no matter what I say on my expenses form, I'm going to worse off anyway! I really feel an idiot for mentioning my loss in income, feel I should have just kept shut and managed the £82 regardless!! Any help would be really appreciated but if you need more info please email. |

I think, and hopefully one of the experts will confirm, that as your IPA was assessed under the old rules, any change in circumstances would also be assessed under the old rule, meaning that you would still keep a percentage of your disposable income.

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.
Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 - it's over at last! |
