the process does depend upon where you are living now ( in the EU or elsewhere ) and how long you have been out of the country.
You would probably need to petition for your Br in the High Court in London and the process is slightly different if you preferred someone to do it in your stead using a Lasting Power of Attorney.
Perhaps you can advise where you are and how long you have been there.

The country in question is Canada, and if the person has been there for less than a year???
I believe there are UK based companies who offer an 'Assisted Bankruptcy' Service for people who are living abroad??? Is it a straightforward process do you know???
