hi all,
another question all the debts for br are in my name but my wife is an additional card holder on one of them. Does this mean she is liable under the br or is that as the account is in my name it is me that is the legal entity in br.
also I am an additional cardholder on an account my wife runs do I need to cancel this card. the account is in my wifes name and not included in br.
also as my wife has benefitted from some of the debts I.e. living expenses/shopping/food how does the or deal with that, could they force my wife down the br route or ask her to repay. there is no extravagances incurred just living expenses.

Additional cardholders do not become liable for the debts.

thanks melanie, I assume this the same principle regarding a loan . all in my name but wife has had some benefit from the loan. I.e. there is no potential for or to ask money to be repaid. this was taken out over 4 years ago.

Hi Darren,
As long as your wife is not named/had not signed the original loan/card application, they can't touch her!

There is no reason why you cannot become a card holder whilst bankrupt on someone else's card, but is this really a good idea, and would your partner be happy to allow this?
