Have you recently been declared bankrupt?

If so, your credit file will be rubbish for 6 years from the date of your bankruptcy so it'll be hard to get credit. You could google poor credit rating loan companies but my advice, if you can wait, is to try and save up and avoid lending.

I agree with Viki - you should try and avoid further lending if you can.

If you are desperate to get the car, is there nobody else that can act as a guarantor?

Hi Viki & jan
we are out of our bankruptcy we have been for a year now we cant get anyone else to act as guarantor for us so it looks like we will have to wait.Still think its a bit rubbish to need a guarantor when 1 we are home owner and 2 we both work & its only £800 we need. Any way thankyou both for your advice i will take it on board & we will save for the car
thanks again
George

That is a pitfall of bankruptcy though. Thinking about nit from a creditor point of view, you've only beenm out of bankruptcy for 1 year & you are wanting credit again. Could you not save up the amount if you are both working?

I am a single parent with 3 children on an income of under 20,000 in total & I reckon it would only take me 2 - 4 months depending on how much belt tightening I did AND no interest to pay.
