I know a lot of people do rate them, but personally I wouldn't use them if I could get a free account.

If you have no debt with Barclays or Natwest, both of thier basic accounts can be accessd online, have debit cards - and no fees!

I wouldn't use a paid for account unless I couldn't get a normal one. I think they are very expensive.

Hiya Lizzie

As you so rightly point out Think Banking offers a pre-paid bank account which is very good for budget control. It is a joint venture between a debt management company in the North of England and one of the high street banks. It is a respected bank although there are no branches and your banking is usually done online or via the telephone. For a bankrupt, I think that it is ideal.

All the best

Unfortunately they don't actually teach budget control as this is done for you.

Also, are the fees allowed as an expenditure in BR? If not they will have to be funded through cutbacks elsewhere which is harder now that all surplus is paid into an IPA.

There is a place for them, but I would only ever use them as a last resort.
