Thanks for your answer to my question. Please can you give me more details of "appointing a power of attorney" as mentioned in your post.
I was thinking about appointing a local solictor to do it all for me, I'm from Cambridge Uk.
Also, this may complecate things slightly. I'm currently waiting for my Ltd company to be struke off. Do I have to wait for the company to dissolve before I can apply bankrupt?
An individual residing abroad can appoint a 'Power of Attorney' to complete and apply for the bankruptcy on someones behalf. This enables the individual to become bankrupt without having to return to the UK to do so. it does cost for the service, but usuaslly when weiged up against the ocst of returning to the UK can be advantageous to do so.
With regard to the directorship - you do nothave to wait to dissolve the company before you 'resign' as director
Hoep this helps, Melanie

you can obtain two types of LPA (medical or Financial).
I would not ask a criminal lawyer to do a complex House purchase, likewise with the LPA & Ltd co issues i would want to obtain some one that specialises in the field.
Although Mel is Cardiff (ish) way most of the correspondence is done via letter or email. so i would make suggest maintain contact with her
