If you have no assets then a debt relief order might be easier & less costly.

Hi there

A DRO - Debt Relief Order is exactly the same as bankruptcy, but for those with debts under £15,000, do not own their own home (even if in negative equity) a disposableincome after living expenditure of less than £50 (a car if owned needs to be under £1,000 in value)

To apply for the order you need to make an appointment with your local Citizens Advice Bureau, they will process everything there for you, the fee is £90 (as opposed to bankruptcy fee of £700) and there isno need to attend court or the OFficial Receiver.

You will be subject to the restraints of the DRO for a period of 12 months ie not incur credit etc. Like all solutions it will remain on your credit file for 6 years

You don't necessarily have to use the CAB. Companies such as Payplan and CCCS also do them.

Follow through
Make your dreams come true
Don't give up the fight
You will be alright
'Cause there's no one like you in the universe
