my wife has just been declared bankrupt. i found out by accident. she tells me it was for £2000. can i just pay this or do i now loose my house which is jointly owened with about £50000 worth of equity?
Hi Joe, sorry for you to find out like that, OK I presume that she did not make herself bankrupt and that a creditor did.
Are you still living together?
Does she have any other debts?
Are you sure that the bankruptcy has actually taken place, ie the order has been signed and that it is not just at the stage of going through the court process?
