I am filing out my forms and i see there's a affidavit or whatever it's called.

Do I need to get this sworn before i go to court? or is it done on the day? I'm leaving things a bit late if it's the former!

Thanks

Pete

Can I ask ask you please.

Do I need to complete this before I go and then swear it there?

I've done my Petition (I think I have done it right) and my statement of affairs. Do I need to prove what I have put I don't have much I can use.

Also I have put the address where all the debts were run up - is that also correct?

I've been to the library and triplicated everything which cost me £10 so I want to make sure I get it right. I cant afford for them to turn me down on the forms and keep my fee. I wouldnt be able to do it again!

I've given up trying to contact the pre judgement section at court after waiting in the " queue" for an hour :/

thanks

You need 3 copies of the statement of affairs and 3 copies of the petition (for most courts).

You sign them when asked in court to do so.

You don't need to take anything else other than your fee in cash and the EX160A form and relevant documents if you are claiming the reduction.

You don't need to take any proof of debt or paperwork to court, you will be asked for your paperwork by the official receiver after your court date.

You need to list your current address and any previous addresses on your petition.

Good luck for tomorrow.

Hi Viki,

Right - thanks!

So I will take all 3 copies to court just to cover my bum is that what you meant?. I have put my current address on the statement of affairs. I will also add it to the petition and should I put that it's my current address?

Is there a way to use my parents address as a care of? I was told on the phone it could be. I have concerns over my ex wife knowing where I live as she's got a few screws loose! She may not have the brains to know where the register is but I am sure her best mate solicitor will!

Im not claming any discounts I have the £700 in cash.

Do I just leave the Affidavit until tomorrow and fill it out then!? I feel scared as if no one will help me and I should know what to do and have done it all - and if I am wrong I will just be kicked out lol :(

The petition needs to be completed correctly but if you need to do it again tomorrow, then as you say, it's only a short form.

It depends on the court on how many copies you need to take, if you take 3, then that covers you in case!

You need to list the address where you are actually living now, unless the police are involved and it would put you in danger having your address listed, your current address would be the one that would be listed on the insolvency register.

Thanks Viki,

My printer is not that good so I can't re do the form again. I will simply add my current address underneath. The form does say to put the address where most or the debt was accrued. Unless I totally read it wrong.

Im travelling 50 miles I don't want to leave something behind so I'll take all 3!

The bit you are referring to is the "lately residing at".

The first section at the very top is the part that you state your current address.
