I was declared bankrupt in 2009 and was discharged successfully but it will remain on my file for 6 years. Will my credit rating will be affected after 6 years once it has been removed ? Will anyone able to see that I was once bankrupt after 6 years or whether it will be completely removed ?

It will be completely removed after 6 years.

It will be off the Insolvency register as Viki has said but will always be visible on the London Gazette.

If you are asked if you have ever been bankrupt, you will have to answer in the affirmative.

Follow through

only banks see that. the public rarely do unless they want to

but they can if they wish to, it is online and so is easy to search

I don't think many people actually know about the London Gazette so I wouldn't worry too much.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 and I'm now looking forward to getting married in September 2012 - I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side.

Well I am now on the register. I am not bothered because as I requested they used my parents address because I lived there for the longer period in 6 months.
