Hi Elaine and welcome,

Absolutely nothing stopping you declaring yourself bankrupt if thats the right thing to do with your current circumstances.

Feel free to chat on here, and also get yourself along to your local CAB to discuss your circumstances in detail to make sure bankruptcy is the best option.

Hi Elaine,

Is your only debt secured against your home? Do you have unsecured debt?

Can you please post a few more details or contact an expert on here to chat through all your options.

Agree with Viki - we need to know some more details as it is very possible that you could lose your house.

Have a chat with an expert - the advice is free.

Ascend may you find no resistance
Know that you made such a difference
All you leave behind will live to the end
The cycle of suffering goes on
But memories of you stay strong
Someday I too will fly and find you again
