I wonder if anyone can help ? We have a court order to vacate the property by 3rd August. Our Trustee has gained a possession and sale order.
Having heard nothing from the trustee since the order was granted on the 18th June, I rang the solicitor dealing with this, asking how or who we returned the keys to.
I had a reply today, Saying the Trustee will arrange for and Agent to collect the keys from us on the day we vacate, and to let them know if I am happy with this, and to inform them of the day we are leaving.
I am not sure if I am happy with this arrangement, it is stressful enough, without the ordeal of waiting in an empty house for an agent to call, but if it is the only option, I would have to go through it.
Is this normal practice ?
Also, does anyone know how I can word a letter to get the Agent to sign, for my protection in handing the keys over ? I have searched the internet and cant seem to find anything. I am not very good with legal wording, and would appreciate some help.

Hi dalgreen, your post seems to have slipped through the net!
You should be able to arrange a mutually acceptable date/time to return your keys.
I wouldn't worry to much personally to the wording of your letter for handing over keys. I wouldnt bother listing all the keys, because as its a reposession they should change all the locks as a matter of course.
Something along the lines of;
I certify that I have received the keys for (address), from (your name).
Meter readings: Electric ........... Gas ........... Water ...........
Signed ........... Printed name ....... Company name ....... Date ........... ================================
Anyone else free to add to the above, but I'd more concerned making sure the meter readings are correct and read with them.
