Hi again all.

Been a long time since last posted, been busy getting on with life after BR 2010.
I am marrying my wonderful long time man soon, but just feel sick with worry of my earlier BR will affect him?

We have never had any accounts or debt in joint name.
All my debt was ever only in my name and I never owned/part owned our property.
I was declared BR June 2010 and Discharged June 2011 and have not had any problems since then.
I had one creditor send me a letter demanding money, but I rang them and explained about the BR+ gave the the OR details and never heard from them.

My husband to be has impecable credit scoring and whilst I was in midts of BR he applied for the current mortgage and had no problems.

Im imagining some button being pressed the second I sign the marital papers and he's name is black-marked just because of my earlier error in life.......

Please can anyome give me some advise?

Thanking you again.

Hello,

Your BR will not affect him at all - just make sure you keep the finances seperate.

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding - hope the weather is good for you!!

Ascend may you find no resistance
Know that you made such a difference
All you leave behind will live to the end
The cycle of suffering goes on
But memories of you stay strong
Someday I too will fly and find you again

Congratulations!

Don't worry about your BR affecting your husband. I'm getting married in September and I had the same worries but I've been assured that it will all be ok.

The only thing is we're not going to have a joint account until the BR drops off my credit file next year.

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 and I'm now looking forward to getting married in September 2012 - I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side.

I'll echo the previous replies.

I contacted my trustee during my current BR as I was concerned they could be affected (other half), and have always been reassured not to worry, the BR was mine.

Hi

My wedding is in October, so not long now :)

It's about time as I've been refusing to marry until BR over and also weve been engaged for well over 10 years.
Bless my other half's patience :) He has been very understanding!!
I just couldnt marry until BR was over and I had moved on a bit.
This is just my 'idiotic' way of thinking and also being uber-superstitious!! lol

It must be coming round so quickly! We get married at the end of September and I can't believe it's only 10 weeks on Friday!

We've only been engaged 18 months but have actually been together nearly 15 years!

Good luck, I hope you have a fantastic day x
