 I went bankrupt last september and still not paying tax. What should I do ?		  New Topic  Reply to Topic

I went bankrupt last september and my tax code was set to NT so tax was bot paid. This should have reverted to my normal tax code again in April I believe but it has not and I am still not paying tax. I have not spent any of the money, it is still in my bank account, what should I do?

Hi and welcome.

Speak to the OR to see what has happened and then I would speak to HMRC for them to rectify this.

HMRC first, it is their job to issue the tax codes and you are right you should be back on a normal tax code now,

Ps well done for keeping the money

Some cases do slip through the net so contact HMRC and hopefully they will get this sorted out quickly.

The more I have to do with humans the more I think that the world would be a better place if it was run by animals.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 and I'm now looking forward to getting married in September 2012 - I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side.
