I was bankrupt in 2007, discharged in Nov 2007. I have a credit report from Callcredit which is showing as having 2 seperate ostg original default balances with Lloyds. This should have been cleared off with my bankruptcy so why are there still balances and what needs to happen to make these zero balances?
Also is it right that after say 6 years all previous cr cards/loans/debts showing on your report will not show anymore?
Many thanks.

Hi,

Are they showing as satisfied or settled? If not then you need to write to the data controller at Lloyds TSB and ask them to show it as settled, and also if the date of default is after your bankruptcy date, then you need to ask them to change that to the date of your bankruptcy.

You need to have a look at Experian and Equifax and check your creditors on there too, and do the same if needed.

Once they all show as satisfied and the date of default is your bankruptcy date or before, then they will all drop off your files at the 6 year point along with your bankruptcy.

Sign up to Noddle - that is Call Credit and it's free so at least you can monitor it.

Experian and Equifax will cost £2 a time to check their records.

Worth doing and I recommend doint what Viki has suggested above and write to the Data Controller at Lloyds.

Hi Viki
There is no satisified or settled wording on the report, other items on the report show as: Termination Balance £0. Lloyds just say:- Original Default Balance £….. going back from the date I was bankrupt to May 2012. Default date is showing as 10/07/2007.

If that's the case then it should drop off now. Have a word with the credit agencies to see why that's not happened.

If 10/7/07 was the date of default then it will drop off next year with your bankruptcy.

It's worth writing to them anyway to tell them to mark it as satisfied. And if that date is later than your bankruptcy then get them to amend it.
