Hi Anna,
I think you may have to come clean with the landlord if you do move. Some may be ok, some may want either a reference, a guarantor or six months rent deposit.
You can always make anonymous calls to agents to see whether or not they would accept you.
Ascend may you find no resistance Know that you made such a difference All you leave behind will live to the end The cycle of suffering goes on But memories of you stay strong Someday I too will fly and find you again

Hi Anna, You might find yourself better with a private rental, especially if your current landlord will give you a favourable reference?

Depends.
I rent privately and through an agent. They have known that I was bankrupt from 2 weeks before I did it. Their attitude?
"The OR will write to us - we will say you have never been in arrears and are not now" everything just carries on.
You need to see how much your landlord score has been affected. Not many people know about this. My credit was dire before I went BR when I moved in here but my landlord score was tops so I passed the check. checkmyfile.com does all 3 agencies and the landlord score for a few £ a month |

It does all depend upon the particular landlord - some are fine others are not.
Best to be upfront with any landlord.

I will do. I told my current landlord that i was going bankrupt and he was ok with it and i have never been behind with my rent so hopefully that will go in my favour. |

The fact that you have had no problems in paying your rent will go in your favour.
If needs be you could always ask your current landlord for a reference if you do plan on moving.

Like I said, ask your current landlord for a reference. Going private could be easier.
I've been a landlord, and a personal reference is always good :-)

have you a particular reason for wanting to move, or just fancy a change?

Unless the OP wants us to know then I don't see that it is any of our business.

the only way to know if its our business, is to ask a question. If the op doesn't want to answer, then its none of our business! Until then, we won't know.

Just asking is all!
