I was made bankrupt in March 2009 and discharged March 2010. Since then I`ve struggled but not had anything to add to my less than brilliant credit history but the thing is I really need a newer van for work (self employed)but didnt want to ask for finance incase I was refused and it would then lower my current credit score (which is `Fair` and amounts to 870 points)Can anyone advise me whether I would get the finance for a van or how to find out for definate without travelling halfway around the country first to view then be told I couldnt have it. This might sound trivial compared to alot of problems on here but I`ve been there and come out (almost) the other side and now need to try and move on and make life a little better. I`m with the Natwest and even though I`ve had no problems at all since I opened an account (just before March 2009) they wont give me an overdraft - the best of it is with them that they made me a `Private Banking` customer without me asking - due to the amount passing through the account not how much (£0.00)I`ve got saved but still wont help.

Any ideas?

Have you looked at Moneybarn? They offer finance to people with poor credit ratings and have helped several people on the sister IVA forum. The interest is higher than on the high street but it could be worth a look.

The more I have to do with humans the more I think that the world would be a better place if it was run by animals.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 and I'm now looking forward to getting married in September 2012 - I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side.

Carloans4U is another one and I know some posters on the sister forum have used them.

Ascend may you find no resistance
Know that you made such a difference
All you leave behind will live to the end
The cycle of suffering goes on
But memories of you stay strong
Someday I too will fly and find you again

Did you look at the other one? I've no idea if they do commercial vehicles but it might be worth a call.

I seem to recall Natwest's 'private banking' was for privileged customers?
Are you paying for that account without all the benefits associated with it?

Its not costing me anything to be in Private banking as I dont have any of the extras just a current account and debit card - there aren`t any charges that I`ve noticed and I check my account online at least once a day
