i made sure i had all my paperwork to hand,id already sent to the OR all my accounts for 6 years, bank statements, credit card bills ,loans etc etc ,also i have my statement of affiars that a copy of 33 pages that i gave to the courts,im ready and waiting at 2pm shart the phone rings im sweating buckets alreayafter the general surcurity questions were off, they generally go through your statement of affiars paper page by page, thats the easy bit, then onto your creditors and your debts, the OR is asking me about every creditor, when i took the credit card out or loan ,why did i take it out,how much i owe and where the money went,s id sent my bank statements credit cards bills in they can generally see where it went but i forgot about a transaction of £415 when asked about that i asked to come back to that question as i could not think why i had spent that money, then we go onto my earnings and my partners earnings, the OR then tells me we wont go through my expenditure as they can see my earnings are so low that they wont be bovered about that at this time, they will send me an expenditure sheet in the post if they need it from me,then they asked me various questions about my lease taxi costings etc,we go back to the £415 i cant account for,i remember now i put a gold chain in the pawn brokers some time ago and the £415 was the cost to get it back out,my turn for questions now i explain about my bad hearing /ear infections over the last few years and tell the OR about my recent operation the OR asks me to sent them documents regarding the operation which i now how done,i ask about my self employed accounts, all tax and N.I for the tax year2011-2012 will be included in my bankruptcy and they said that i will not pay anything to the OR regarding this,i will not pay tax for the tax year i am bankrupt so tax for 2012-2013 up till april 4th of 2013,i will be liable for tax from april 5th 2013 but will start fresh not owing anything that bit can be confusting i will get a new tax ref number on that date so like a new bussiness with the old bussiness disolved a fresh start,i now think the OR is trying to get off the phone but i have a list of questions to ask,the OR finally tells me just do nothing if they need anything they will ring me or send a letter so overall a very friendly phone call no judgement on there part at all in fact i found the OR very understanding regarding my health and operation, the OR finally told me to contact HMRC regarding my accounts and N.I ive spoken to HMRC regarding the accounts and tax and am waiting for a letter about the class 2 N.I stamps,i felt very relived after that phone call i can tell you so just a few little things regarding tax and N.I to sort out,so my £40,000 of debt is really no more,i may get an early discharge if my earnings and outgoings do not change long post but if may help others who are a bit worried about that phone call |
