Hi
my new Partner has recently been informed of a £27K plus over payment from the DWP & Council Tax we have been banging our heads off a wall trying to sort this out as we are both out of work now.
A friend said about Bankruptcy is this a possible option for her.

Hi Gary

welcome to the forum

depends on other debts for BR

benefits over payment no that will be repaid

council tax , technically No but that tends to be included in BR it is down to each council to decide if they are going to give you a break.

BR is a big step.

complaining to the council ombudsman may rattle cages to get the situation moving forward.

try to arrange a small monthly payment based on your circumstances not the perceived situation from the other side

long battle ahead

Good Luck Richard,

Hi Gary and welcome to the forum.

I would suggest having a chat with an expert to see which is the best solution for you.

Either speak to an expert from this site or visit www.iva.com and give a couple a ring on there for some free advice.
