My boyfriend of 2 years is in a horrible situation and yesterday had a panic attack whilst we were out shopping, on the way home he told me he feels as though there is too much pressure on him an he sometimes thinks about killing himself. I never knew things were getting to him this much until yesterday.
This is the situation...
A few years ago 4 or 5 I think his dad came out that he had debts up to his eyeballs so my boyfriend had to take over the mortgage on the house so it's couldn't be repossessed. 2 years after this his dad went bankcrupt. So my boyfriend is having to live with his mum and sister we can't see a future, he is 30 I am 23 his sister is 19. His dad has also been diagnosed with Alzheimer's this year and cannot work for much longer he is only 55 so very sad. I just don't know what to do as he is telling me I should leave him and meet someone I can have a future with eg mortgage children etc. I feel so sad as he is the one I thought I would have all this with.
Does anyone know what we could do or are we just stuck living with his parents forever??

Hi cosmob,

I'm sorry your bf is going through this.

Is he in debt at all? Or is it because he has to support his mum and sister? Is his Dad helping financially?

If he's not in debt, I'm not sure this forum is going to be very helpful, but I certainly think he should visit his GP for help and support.

His mum and dad are paying towards the mortgage but not the full amount or for sky tv or house insurance! At the moment we share a house with one of my bf friends it's a big house so lots of room but is costing so much as paying rent there and the remainder of the mortgage his family cannot pay. My bf is not in debt himself but is just stuck with the house which his parents have to live in as cannot get another mortgage not afford to rent. The debt was all his dads but now he has gone bankrupt and been diagnosed with Alzheimer's the debt is cleared. The problem is just what am I and my boyfriend supposed to do we can't get another mortgage so it's just the horrible thought of living with his parents and younger sister forever!
He just feels like his Family have dumped this on him and has to look after tendencies but can't have a life of his own if it carries on like this forever

Sorry auto correct didn't mean to write tendencies! Think I was meant to say look after his family!

Hi Cosmob,

Sorry, I don't know what to advise. I think he needs to sit down with his family and chat it all through.
