I was discharged from bankruptcy may 2012 and I need a cheque book to pay simple things like cheques to my childrens school, cheques for clubs, I already have a basic bank account with Coop but they won't allow me a cheque book neither will the Nationwide, the school doesn't want cash i foind it so embarrassing can anyone advise me who would offer a cheque book facility without paying silly management fees. Thank you

I honestly don't know. Have you tried Barclays? Hold on and another forum member may know.

I can't see Barclays doing it either. Can you you use a debit card? If not you will have to tell them that they have to have cash as you don't have a cheque book.

Don't be embarrassed - lots of people have accounts without cheque books.

You could always get a postal order.

Do you have a family member or friend who can issue the cheque and you give them the money? Just an idea...
